I have to confess that my greatest theological breakthroughs and insights into life come through questions. Questions that often times go unanswered.
Reading scripture leads to understanding.
Some argue that the Bible is God’s answer book for believers. It does provide answers to lots of theological and life questions. But read in depth it poses just as many questions as answers.
Reading scripture deeply and habitually gives great insight and understanding into:
1. God’s nature and character
2. The human condition and the reality of sin
3. The mystery of God
4. The call of Christ
The understanding that comes through reading scripture isn’t just head knowledge. It isn’t just heart knowledge either. It is an understanding that is soul-transforming.
